Kindergarten Guide

Drop Off

First Day of School
Parents may walk their child directly to the classroom beginning at 7:30 a.m.

After the First Day
Parents will say goodbye at the designated entrance door. To enter the building, please sign in at the front office.

Arrival Time
Students should arrive by 7:50 a.m. Students arriving at 7:51 a.m. or later are considered tardy and must enter through the front office.

Pick Up

Kindergarteners may be extra tired during the first few weeks as they adjust to their new routine. A hug and a healthy snack can go a long way at the end of the day.

Each family will receive a pickup sign with their child’s name from the teacher. This sign is required for pickup. Without it, you will need to go to the front office and show ID.

If your child is going home with someone else, please call the front office or send a note to your child’s teacher.

Attendance Notes

If your child is absent due to illness, please send a handwritten note to the office within three days of their return.

If your child will miss school for vacation or another planned absence, please notify the teacher as soon as possible. A handwritten note must be sent to the office within three days of your child’s return. Please note that these absences will be unexcused.

Attire

• Tennis shoes are needed on PE days.
• A change of clothes may be kept in your child’s locker.
• A light jacket or sweater may be kept in your child’s backpack.
• Please label jackets, sweaters, and extra clothes with your child’s first and last name.
